The differences between Omaha and Texas hold 'em
The rules of' Pot Limit Omaha and Omaha Hi / Lo at the grassroots level are more or less the same as in Texas hold'em : The hole cards are dealt to each player during the pre-flop, followed by three cards of the flop, the turn and river. Even the episodes follow the same route. The
big difference between PL Omaha and Texas Hold'em is that in Omaha each player is dealt four cards instead of two. At the end of each hand, all players must use two of these four hole cards and three community cards to get the best possible hand to the best of five cards.
Omaha Hi / Lo
The rules of 'Omaha Hi / Lo are the same as' PL Omaha with one exception: the low hands split the pot may qualify. To qualify a low hand, a player must be able to get a hand that contains five unpaired cards with a value of not more than 8 (ie means that at least two hole cards and three community cards must not be greater than 8). Straights and flushes are not taken into account the requirements of the low hand and an ace can be considered low or high. The best possible low hand is A, 2, 3, 4, 5. As scale, these cards also often win the high hand.
